The best time to travel to Tanzania is during the dry season, from June to October. Wildlife is easier to spot, especially at waterholes. This is also the best time to see the great migration.
Tanzania has a tropical climate, with temperatures varying by region and altitude. In the higher north, temperatures are cool and pleasant, on the coast and in the south it is much warmer.
The southern safari circuit is a lot less known than the busy north, but at least as much worth it. Think of the enormous Ruaha National Park, the savannahs of Katavi and the densely forested Mahale Mountains on Lake Tanganyika.
The endless plains of the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara: Tanzania is famous for its safari parks, and rightly so. But Tanzania is much more than that, you will also find the largest concentration of wild animals in the world here, and amazing nature.

In the lesser-known south of the country you will find beautiful wildlife parks, where you will hardly encounter other tourists. You can also look for chimpanzees in the mystical Mahale Mountains, our personal favorite.
